Workout!
My first post really motivated me to start right now instead of waiting until tomorrow! I put on my heart rate monitor, my fancy shoes, and the kinect game which has a personal trainer that kicked my butt! I burned 200 calories in 30 mins and i'm drenched in sweat, and I love it!
First Post
Background
I'm 25, i'm a wife, a mom to three cute dogs, a new nurse on a very busy tele floor with crazy coworkers, and i'm overweight. I'm addicted to nursing, medicine, and just recently weight loss blogs. My husband keeps telling me I should start my own, so here I go!
Weight History
I ended high school at 180 lbs, and graduated with my first bachelors degree in the 220's (I blame it on the stress of deciding medicine wasn't for me, but I just make really poor eating choices). During this time I had dropped from 210ish to the 170's and then gained it all back and then some. Nursing school ended in May with me at 250 lbs and since nursing school I have hovered around 240. I'm really good at losing weight short term, but then I gain it all back and more.
Weigh In
I am officially weighing in today at 242.4. Yikes!
My Struggles
Since May I have been trying to make better choices, eat smaller portions, drink less soda, move more, and I am slowly losing weight. I think my biggest road blocks are getting hungry two hours before dinner, eating a snack, not getting full, repeat until dinner time, where I feel like I should eat (at this point a 2nd) dinner with my husband because he doesn't know i've been snacking the whole time, eating ridiculous amounts of food during long shifts because I don't know if it's going to be my only meal of the day, and being afraid to be hungry.
My Tools
I bought a new, accurate scale, I got a heart rate monitor for Christmas, I have awesome Nike shoes that connect to my ipod, I have a treadmill, I have the Xbox Kinect My Shape, I have a ww app on my phone, I have a nutrition facts app on my phone, and I have a very supporting husband and one of my bff's is also in this with me!
My goal for 2011 is to become this blog title, Skinny Nurse B! I want to be the one that everyone is jealous of because I have a rockin' body. I don't want to be the one everyone makes fun of for being overweight. I'm ready, i'm motivated, and i'm armed with all the tools I need to succeed!
I work tomorrow and New Year's Day, wish me luck!
